Was Tobias doing this on purpose, or was he really this oblivious? Anthony leaned forward and rest his head on the table, waiting for him to notice him again.

It was kind of pleasant to wander off into his own thoughts, but when the man moved, he became aware of the awkward silence. He didn't know what to say though, and lifted his glass to pretend he was too busy drinking to say something, while he thought of something to say. In the evenings at home, when he didn't know what to say, he just focused on some woodwork he was carving, and Alice seemed satisfied to focus of sewing, and that's how they survived.

Anthony looked up at Tobias like a sad puppy, and waited for him to pay attention to him again. He moved a little bit closer to him, and let out a small sigh.

Tobias looked at Anthony again when he sighed. Had he been... this much in his personal space before? He hadn't noticed. But it was awkward to say something about it. "Are you alright?" he asked.

Anthony was much happier now that he was being paid attention to, again. "More than alright," he said. Though he was still sitting there exactly as close to Tobias as before — he just couldn't risk it.

"Oh... alright..." Something seemed off though. He didn't know what to say though. He didn't even know how to pick up the conversation, because he had forgotten what they had been talking about. Back to drinking.

Anthony frowned. What the hell does he have to do to make him pay attention to him? He inched even closer to Tobias, trying not to make his displeasure too obvious, and just silently waited for him to show even the tiniest bit of interest in him.

This time he noticed the movement. It might just be that Anthony was sitting uncomfortably, but Tobias did feel like it was getting awkward now. He shifted a little, to give both of them more space.

Anthony closed the distance between them. If he doesn't get any attention anytime soon, he's just going to straight-up sit on this guy's lap, probably. He sighed loudly.

Ooooooh no. Oh no. He realized the man didn't have a lot of money, which was why Tobias had been fine with buying him a drink. But surely he wasn't... Tobias stared straight at his drink. This sort of thing happened in bigger towns, but he had never expected to run into it. What did he say? What did he do?
