RE: Second Star to the Right - Philippa Danes - 02-22-2021 She bit her lip. This was more than awkward. How did one calm the good doctor down when he was clearly very upset? Added to that, the girl who came in through her window wasn't helping the situation by pouring more brandy. She thought about getting up and going back upstairs, for a giggle was trying to bubble up past her lips and that wouldn't do. Pippa looked down into her glass. There was nothing she could say or do to make the situation any better. RE: Second Star to the Right - Vigdis Dahl - 02-22-2021 Pippa wasn't going to allow herself to giggle, but that didn't stop Vigdis. When Tristan finally let all that out, wide eyes jumped to his face and she listened as he recounted his version of what had happened thus far. An amused smile played on her lips, a dimple showing in her left cheek. "Ye ain't ever have a run in with a pirate before, huh?" she asked, taking a sip of the brandy from the glass. He was lucky she wasn't drinking straight out of the bottle. These people... they didn't know what it was like to live on the high seas. Being armed with a dagger was akin to wearing shoes outside the house. He obviously didn't understand that she had tried to make amends by returning his stolen coin. Or that she made the first show of peace by setting her dagger down out of reach... not to say that she wasn't still armed... By God, she had even said please when she asked for help. She didn't demand it at all. Hell, if it had been a different pirate on the train station, they would have killed him and taken all of his belongings. The doctor obviously had no idea how lucky he was that he ran into her... and then had the gall to threaten her with the constable. Vigdis looked over at Pippa who was staring down into her drink. Perhaps this was the doctor's natural state. Perhaps he was cruel, twisting the story to make him the victim. Now that Vigga was regaining herself, she saw how curled into herself Pippa was and wondered if Tristan was the reason she didn't speak up more. Was she afraid of him? "Pips, ye alright?" RE: Second Star to the Right - Tristan Wells - 02-23-2021 "No, they tend to hang before I have a chance to." Tristan tartly stated. He was flabbergasted. Had she just admitted that she was a criminal? How did he get the constable without leaving her alone with Pippa or giving her a chance to escape? RE: Second Star to the Right - Philippa Danes - 02-23-2021 Blinking in surprise at the familiarity in which the pirate lass spoke to her, she looked up and nodded. She wasn't exactly sure what to think or say right then, her dark eyes wide like a doe caught in headlights. She was definitely feeling the effects of the alcohol, never having had spirits before. Another giggle threatened. It wasn't at all funny, was it? "I... don't have anything to say is all," she said. It wasn't that she was afraid of anyone, it was that she was overwhelmed, tired, and so very confused about what was going on. So first, she thought, the blonde plied her tricks upon Dr. Wells... then she came to his house and snuck in through Pippa's window, scaring her half to death in the process. Then there was a letter, and the matter of the gold piece she guessed she acquired thanks to reading the letter... did she keep the coin or did she not? Now they sat in a most awkward conversation. The girl admitted she was a pirate. A fucking pirate. She hesitated and then downed the brandy that was in front of her, this time not coughing but shuddering even still. |
