Rose pulled a face. That was going to be a bruise. "It's ok," she grunted. "Sorry...." She went back into the kitchen and returned with milk and sugar.

Elijah hadn't sat down. "Why are you apologizing? You should sit down." He gestured for her to sit beside him. "Are you sure you don't need a bandage or some ice?" He was staring at her nervously, feeling guilty she was hurt, even worse it was because she was trying to be nice to him.

"It's okay, Elijah... Just a little sore, but nowt else." she said. She blushed.

Finally, Elijah looked relieved but he still grabbed her shoulders and guided her to sit. "You will still take it easy, I insist. I'm not going to make my friend continue cooking and walking after you were hurt in my home. " He smiled and headed towards the kitchen. "Are you sure you don't want me to refill your tea?"

Rose blushed deeper when he took her by the shoulders and she sat down. "Erm... if it's no problem, Elijah." she said.

"Never a problem." He smiled brighter and went to the kitchen to fill her tea and brought it to her. "Don't hesitate to use the sugar and milk too if you like it in your tea." He walked towards the other room but looked towards her. "Hey, um.. how much longer until they come out of the oven?" He felt sheepish since he said he'd take care of it.

Rose put a little bit of milk and sugar in her tea. "Oh not long. They just need about ten minutes."

It didn't matter. They'd be stale anyway.

"Alright." He smiled and went back to the kitchen to wait for them, pulling out a dish he could place them on after they cooled enough to put down. While sitting with Rose while he waited was an option, he was worried he'd be distracted and they'd burn.

Rose looked around for a way to make herself useful, but she couldn't find anything to do, and so she waited.

Soon, Elijah sat beside her and put down two small plates, each with a couple of oatcakes on it. "Thank you again for this." He smiled and grabbed a piece but he knew her cooking well. He waited for her to take one and would eat it at the same time so she wouldn't be staring at his face for his expression.
