Malachi tried not to linger too long in the guest room once he had led her there, but he did not rush either. With a glance around the low-lit room, he made sure that everything necessary was there -- sometimes things got moved around, and this room was already more furnished than the others, what with the extra furniture he'd pushed into there from his own room before.
"Please do," he said as he returned to the side of the bed. At least she looked tired enough to sleep. And if she couldn't, then at least he was always up and about to hear her. Malachi set a hand on her shoulder in what he hoped was a reassuring touch, and then moved to leave her in peace.
"Goodnight, Miss Mason," Malachi offered from the doorway, "I hope you feel better soon."
