Gabe frowned. "If this is about locking you up in the church that night, I told you I was sorry and I offered to compensate you."

Anthony narrowed his eyes. "Yeah, surely that's the only remotely disrespectful thing you've ever done to me," he said.

"Seriously, I think you are mistaking me for someone else, because I have no idea what you're talking about!" Ugh! This was so frustrating. Maybe drowning wasn't so bad.

"Suuuuuure. No idea at all," Anthony glared at Gabriel. Was this guy just stupid, or was he really that against admitting that he's kinda disgusting?

"No, I don't," Gabriel said. He could handle people disliking him for being a catholic - oh how he loved feeling like a martyr - and he could handle people disliking him for speaking out about the conditions of the poor - oh how he loved feeling like a martyr. But this random hatred, without explanation, was just too much. "I think you're confused."

This guy was dense. "You literally just–" Anthony gestured vaguely, because he didn't want to just... spell it out for him.

"Just what!?" he almost shouted. Was it the prayer, after all?

Anthony didn't want to say it. Which was exactly why he was circling around doing so. He made a vulgar, yet still kind of vague, motion.

Anthony stopped, and just waited for the other guy to get it. He really didn't want to keep playing this game of charades for longer than was necessary.
