She gave him a scornful look. "You look like you might not have 'em at all," she bit back.

Francis shrugged looking even more pleased. "You'll never know. "

"Glad for it..." she muttered. She rested her arms on her knees and stared at the window. Ugh. That looked awful. Was it worth it?

Francis frowned and folded his arms as he remained leaning to the wall and looked at her. Out of all the places in town, she'd end up in his hole.

"Why aren't you home in this rain? Why are you way out here?"

"I was lookin' for work. Why aren't you at the church if it's so great there?" She kept her eyes on the window.

Francis shrugged. "I don't need to be there all the time. I can wander, and this is MY place." He said and put his hands on his hips "I thought ladies like you just worked on your back. Ain't got a place to lay down?" He snorted.

She turned to look at him and lifted an eyebrow. "Not fer the moment, or I wouldn't be here in this dump ye call home, would I?"
