Anthony was absolutely not affected by the comments about his marriage — mainly because he didn't even know that he was apparently propositioning this guy. "Oh, that's nice. It's good to have people around you." He inched closer to Tobias as soon as he tried to move away a bit.

Could this guy not take a hint!? "Yeah," he said, staring hard at his glass.

"It's not good to be lonely," Anthony continued the conversation. "I'm glad you have someone with you."

"Yeah..." said Tobias. Wasn't that what he had just said? If he stared any harder at his drink, the glass might just explode.

"You're not very talkative, are you?"

"I..." he looked at the man again at last, rather flustered. How was he going to be subtle about this... "I'm not so good at making conversation..."

Anthony shrugged. "Fair enough," he said, pausing for a moment to drink. "you're just very quiet. I was starting to worry a little." He laughed for a moment to try and ease the tension.

The tension was not gone for Tobias. "Sorry..." he muttered. He wasn't sorry. But he also didn't want to be rude, or let the man know what he thought. If he was wrong it would be seriously embarrassing, or might even lead to a fight.

"Oh, it's fine," Anthony tried to reassure him. "I was just...joking." Why was this man so awkward to talk to?

"Right..." More awkward. What was he to say now? "You got a family?" Probably not. But maybe he did, and then Tobias could breathe at last.
